NDIS

1: What is NDIS?

The NDIS stands for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. It is an Australian government program designed to support individuals with a disability by providing funding for necessary services and supports to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

2: Am I eligible to apply NDIS?

To determine if you are eligible to apply for the NDIS, you need to meet specific criteria. Eligibility is generally based on the following requirements:

  • Age
    • You must be under 65 years of age at the time of your application.
  • Residency
    • You must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
  • Disability Requirements
    • You must have a permanent and significant disability that impacts your ability to perform everyday activities. This means:
      • The disability is likely to be lifelong.
      • It significantly affects your ability to take part in activities, perform tasks, or live independently without support.
  • Early Intervention Requirements (if applicable)
    • If you don’t meet the disability criteria, you may still qualify if you require early intervention to reduce the impact of a disability or developmental delay.
    • This includes children under 6 with developmental delays or conditions that benefit from support early on.
